Hi there!

Missed out on the latest EV news? Don’t worry—we’ve rounded up everything you need to know, from Tesla’s wireless charging to VW’s offers.

Ready, set, go…

Tesla has confirmed that future models, including the Robotaxi, will come equipped with wireless charging. They're aiming for more than just sleek design—they want maximum comfort. So, instead of plugging in your car, you just park it and let it charge itself. This tech is about 95% efficient, nearly as good as traditional charging but way more convenient. While it’s not as fast as Tesla’s Superchargers, it’s perfect for home use.

Volkswagen is offering a new 3-year charging plan for buyers of the 2025 ID.Buzz through a partnership with Electrify America. This plan includes a Pass+ membership, which provides about 25% off standard charging rates, 500 kWh of free charging, and a Plug&Charge feature for easy charging through Electrify America’s app.

Additionally, Volkswagen plans to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) by 2025, giving ID.Buzz owners access to over 15,000 more charging points, expanding the overall charging network for their electric vehicles.

While Volkswagen plans to integrate North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters for its electric vehicles, Ford has warned its EV owners to stop using these adapters designed for Tesla’s Supercharger network. Initially hailed as a breakthrough, Ford identified issues with a specific batch that could lead to reduced charging speeds or damage to the vehicle’s charging port.

In response, Ford advises customers to refrain from using the affected adapters and will begin shipping replacements on October 28. This situation is classified as a customer service action rather than a formal recall. Affected owners are encouraged to confirm their shipping addresses by October 24 to ensure timely replacements.
