Tesla’s $30K Model Q is reportedly launching in the first half of 2025. Expected to cost under $30K with subsidies, it will be Tesla’s smallest and lightest car yet. Positioned to rival budget EVs like BYD Dolphin and VW ID.3, it’s built on existing production lines and features a minimalist design. While Tesla remains tight-lipped, the Model Q could redefine affordable electric vehicles and expand Tesla’s reach globally.

Polestar has begun U.S. production of its Long-Range Single Motor (LRSM) SUV in Charleston, South Carolina. With 350 miles of range, 295 hp, and premium features like a 14.5-inch infotainment display, tri-zone climate control, and optional luxury upgrades, the LRSM balances performance and style. Priced to start in the mid-$80,000 range, it’s set to compete in the premium electric SUV market.

Starting in 2025, universal plug-and-charge will allow all EVs to seamlessly charge at public stations with just a plug-in. Spearheaded by SAE, EVPKI, and federal agencies, this system uses a Certificate Trust List for instant authentication, eliminating the need for apps or cards. This game-changing initiative aims to simplify charging and boost EV adoption nationwide.

Porsche’s electric 718 Boxster and Cayman, launching in 2025, will skip one-pedal driving. Instead, regenerative braking will rely on the brake pedal, ensuring precise control and a superior driving experience. This decision reflects Porsche’s focus on performance and driver confidence, staying true to its sports car heritage.

Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N, the brand’s first high-performance EV, debuts in Gran Turismo 7 this January. Teased during the Gran Turismo World Series 2024, this virtual addition celebrates Hyundai’s motorsports success and brings cutting-edge performance to esports enthusiasts.

The 2025 Lucid Gravity sets a new standard for SUVs, combining 450 miles of range, sport sedan-like handling, and a luxurious, spacious cabin. With cutting-edge tech and practical features like 120.6 cubic feet of cargo space, this electric SUV delivers both performance and utility. Deliveries start soon for the $96,550 Grand Touring model, with the $81,550 Touring model arriving in late 2025.
