Toyota is planning to phase out gasoline-only vehicles in the U.S. market, according to recent reports. This means future Toyota models sold in the U.S. would likely be hybrid, plug-in hybrid, electric, or fuel-cell powered. This shift comes as Toyota's sales of electrified vehicles are rapidly increasing, approaching half of their US sales. The company believes it's nearing the point where these alternative powertrains will overtake traditional combustion engines. This move signals a significant step towards electrification for the automaker, known for its popular hybrid models like the Prius.

Contrary to viral social media discussions, GEICO has confirmed that it continues to offer insurance coverage for the Tesla Cybertruck. The post, which included a screenshot of an email allegedly from GEICO, falsely claimed the insurer was dropping Cybertruck coverage because the vehicle didn't meet its underwriting guidelines. GEICO clarified that the email was fake and they are still insuring Cybertrucks nationwide.

Uber is indeed going electric, and it's not just rumors! They've committed to becoming a zero-emission platform by 2030 in the US and Canada, and by 2040 globally. Uber Green, which allows riders to specifically request hybrid or electric vehicles, is already available in many cities. They're also incentivizing drivers to switch to EVs with programs like vehicle discounts and partnerships with rental companies like Hertz. Uber's goal is to have every car on its platform be electric by 2040, demonstrating a serious commitment to sustainability.
