A camouflaged Tesla Model YL has been spotted on California roads, marking the first confirmed US testing of the stretched 6-seat SUV. The model is already on sale in China and offers a longer wheelbase for better third-row space. This makes it a more practical family-focused version of the Model Y. Despite earlier comments suggesting it might not come to the US, the sighting suggests Tesla is actively preparing it for North American testing.

XPeng officially unveiled the GX, a new premium six-seat SUV starting around $58,000 with up to 750 km of range. It features an 800V platform, steer-by-wire technology, and L4-ready autonomous hardware powered by XPeng’s latest AI systems. The interior focuses on luxury with advanced seating and smart controls. The GX targets China’s highly competitive premium SUV market.

Tesla disclosed a $2 billion AI hardware acquisition buried in its Q1 filing. Most of the deal value is tied to performance milestones, meaning payment depends on successful deployment. No company name or product details were shared. The deal was also not mentioned during the earnings call, raising questions about transparency and Tesla’s AI strategy.

Porsche’s Cayenne Coupe Electric delivers up to 1,139 hp and a 2.4-second 0–60 mph time. It still keeps SUV practicality like towing, off-road capability, and fast charging. This makes it one of the most powerful electric SUVs ever built while still being usable daily.

Hyundai revealed the IONIQ V, a sleek production EV with over 600 km range and an 800V architecture. It features a futuristic cabin with a 27-inch display and AI assistant. The design closely matches its earlier concept, signaling Hyundai’s push to regain ground in China.

BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao brand previewed Formula S sedans and a Formula X supercar. The move shows a shift from rugged SUVs into high-performance EV territory. These new models use aggressive styling and lightweight materials to target the luxury performance space.

Tesla is offering 1 year of free Supercharging for new Model 3 Premium and Performance orders in North America. The incentive is aimed at boosting sales of higher trims and applies to new custom orders, not just inventory. Tesla also claimed non-Tesla EVs pay significantly more at Superchargers, though real-world data suggests the gap is smaller and can be reduced with a monthly membership. It’s a clear push to strengthen demand for Tesla’s ecosystem.
